When scuba diving, seeing all of the different types of coral, the colors, the shapes and the textures. All the sea life is great, but what is that coral?
Is it a coral or is it a sponge? Or is it plant or a fish instead?
Learning to be able to identify the different coral species will add another dimension to your scuba diving experience. It means that you will find it easier to locate those illusive species of fish, because you know that they like a particular type of habitat. You can even extend your knowledge further by taking a Specialty Diving course as an Underwater Naturalist and who know perhaps it might open up opportunities to do volunteer research work in your area.
