Acropora - Plate Coral

Acropora
Like the Gorgonian the Acropora or Plate Coral also belongs to the Cnidaria group
This type of coral is also referred to as umbrella coral.  You will find that the Blue Spotted Ribbontail Stingray will often rest under this type of coral formation.

Made up of polyps, 2mm across. The polyps collect zoo plankton
