When I am scuba diving, I love seeing all of the different fish species, different sizes, colors and shapes. All of the different varieties are great but what fish is that?
Is it a dangerous fish, does it have poisonous spines.
Is it shy or inquisitive? What is the best photo lens to use for this fish? Why does it have the markings it does? What does it eat?
Learning to be able to identify the different species of fish will add another dimension to your scuba diving experience. It means that you will find it easier to locate those illusive species of fish, because you know that they like a particular type of habitat and they are companion fish to one you have just seen. You can even extend your knowledge further by taking a Specialty Diving course as an Underwater Naturalist and who know perhaps it might open up opportunities to do volunteer research work in your area
We will be expanding on our What Fish Is That regularly, but for now ...
